The following charts are used in READS to calculate criterion scores and Instruction/Independent Reading Levels based on cut scores. A "cut score" refers to the number of correct answers for a given test sitting or sub-sitting. You can use student cut scores to generate READS report data manually.
Use a student's cut score in the Evaluation Test or any sitting of the Diagnostic Test with the Cut Score Criteria Chart to determine test sitting criterion scores in any grade level test.
Use a student's Reading Comprehension Test cut score with a Cut Score Instructional/Independent Reading Level Chart to determine a student's Instructional/Independent Reading Level.
